Family Eucharistic Workshop

Adults and children writing prayers together
Today adults and children continued their preparation for Holy Communion by writing some prayers that will be made into prayer cards for their First Holy Communion day.
Then whilst adults went into church to pray before the Blessed Sacrament, the children created a monstrance which would remind them that Jesus is truly present which is why we come to adore Him.
The children also went into church for silent prayer, after this they went into the cloisters where we enjoyed the sunshine and prayed the children's prayer for vocations (see below).
Children creating their own monstrance

To see their finished monstrance, visit our Year of Faith site where you can learn more about what the word monstrance means.

For further details about the 40 hours and exposition see Cathedral Year of Faith Blog

God our Father,
You created us, love us and call us to follow You.
Help those You are calling to follow You
as priests or nuns or in some other special way.
Give them wisdom, courage and strength.
Help those who look after us to show us Your love.
May we follow You with all our hearts,
so that we may always be truly happy.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
