St Stephen
Today we celebrate the Feast of St Stephen, the first martyr and the name of many of our parishioners including Fr Stephen and Deacon Stephen ... we remember them all and give thanks for all they do and have done for our parish.
St Francis and the Crib
And now to St Francis of Assisi, it was St Francis who is said to have created the first crib. At the start of advent, Bishop Paul asked us to have a crib central in our homes, over the coming days we will be sharing images of cribs in local churches and those from parishioners homes. If you have a crib and a story of where it came from please let us know.
Tomorrow hear more about the first Crib and why St Francis used the crib to remind him and others about the birth of Christ.
