Holy Week 2026
The Bishop has asked for the Sacred Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil) to be celebrated all together in one celebration at the Cathedral for the whole parish. On Good Friday there will be stations of the cross celebrated across the different churches of the parish.
Our Services this year will be:
- 2nd April Holy Thursday Chrism Mass 11.30, Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7pm, watching at the Altar of Repose until Midnight
- 3rd April Good Friday Solemn Liturgy of the Passion 3pm
- 4th April Easter Vigil 8pm
- 5th April Easter Sunday Masses as usual (with an additional Mass at 11am at St Mary’s Hornby)

• Mums’ Group Most Tuesdays Cathedral House after 12.15 Mass. See Fr John or poster for details
• RCIA/Journey in Faith A course to explore what we believe as Catholics especially aimed at those new to or returning to the faith.
• Coffee & Chat at St Bernadette’s: In the Social Area each Wednesday after 9.15 Mass. Everybody welcome.
• Midweekers Group singing and social 11.15 Wednesdays, Cathedral House
• Cathedral Choir Thursdays 7pm. See Dr Damian Howard, Director of Music, if interested.
• Gospel Sharing online – Thursdays 7.30pm to 8.30pm Please email Ann-Marie Houghton on Catechist.Cathedral@lrcd.org.uk for a Zoom link.
• Homeless Outreach 1st Friday of the month 7pm (next on 3rd April)
• Stations of the Cross: Cathedral Fridays at 7pm, St Joseph’s Sundays at 3pm, St Bernadette’s after Monday Mass
