Bishop Paul Swarbrick and newly ordained Fr Stephen Talbutt

Today Bishop Paul Swarbrick ordained his first priest since becoming Bishop and one of the Cathedral's own parishioners Stephen Talbutt became Fr Stephen Talbutt. There will be more about this splendid day in the coming weeks, in the meantime a few photos for those unable to attend.


At the end of Mass, Bishop Paul announced that Fr Stephen's first parish will be as assistant priest to Fr Andrew Dawson who left last year to go to Blackpool parish.

On the altar, a flower and relic of St Therese of Liseux very fitting given the importance of the visit of the relics to Lancaster Cathedral in Septemebr 2009. 

Please keep Fr Stephen in your prayers as he begins his ministry as a Lancaster Diocesan priest.
