Here we see a member of the Wareing family with St Peter's keys on show when they visited St Kessog's in Balloch, Loch Lomond.
St Kessog
St Kessog was an early Christian martyr of Scotland, his feast day is 10th March. Although he was born in Ireland he came over to Scotland as a missionary. He is thought to have trained under St Partrick. In 540AD he was killed at Luss, Loch Lomond, which became a place of pilgrimage. People came to pray at the shrines to St. Kessog who is reported to be the patron of Scotland until the 10th century. For more about St Kessog, click here
