Our two Friday photos of faith this week involve making connections.
Tree of life
First, a piece of art work at Lancaster University - although the title of this work is not yet known, it sparked off conversation that it might be the 'tree of knowledge' and from that the 'tree of life' which is often linked to the tree in the Garden of Eden which brings us eternal life Gen. 2:9.
Pope Benedict XVI at the World Youth Day spoke about "the Cross is the true tree of life."
Making connections
Young people interested in finding out more about the parish confirmation programme braved the snow and sleet to attend the information meeting. One of our activities was looking at what connects we have with each other as baptised members of the Church.

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
