Heating Fund

Heating Fund Logo
When asked what would make people feel welcome at Church, one of our Confirmandi wrote on our poster 'turn the heating on'!  Although the heating is turned on at the Cathedral, in recent years and months it has become clear that the heating is not working as well as it should.  We all know how being cold can be a distraction - one wonders what the Catholic community who built the Cathedral did to keep warm.

Thankfully the Diocese has agreed we can replace the heating.  As readers of the weekly newsletter will know earlier this year the decision to replace the heating system.  Since then we have launched the heating fund.    This week we have received further donations to the heating fund, individual donations ranging from £50 to £1,000 and 37 people who have set up direct debits to make a monthly contribution.  In addition we received a generous donation from Canon Cooper and the Morecambe parishes for £5,226.86, which had been added to previous donations reported in the parish bulletin and announced at Mass in the past weeks.

There are many ways in which we can help.  Ideas for fund raising are still welcome, please speak with Canon Stephen or Fr Stewart.  In the meantime, please consider:
