Annunciation ... few days late

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation. It is normally celebrated on the 25th March which is nine months before the Feast of Christmas.  However, when this feast falls in Holy Week, it is moved to the first Monday after the 2nd Sunday of Easter.  But no change to our celebration of Christmas which comes as usual on the 25th December!

So today we remember how Mary said YES when the angel Gabriel announced that God was to send His Son as Saviour.  In the image we have the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, coming down to Mary, who conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit.
