V2: Our Lady of Hyning

Although not directly in the Cathedral parish there are many individuals, parish groups and recently pupils from the Cathedral school who have visited the Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning in Silverdale.  Like many of the religious orders we are sharing information about this week, they organise retreats.  
Earlier this year as part of the Year of Faith they offered opportunities for young people to discern their vocation, to spend time to answer the question that Pope Benedict XVI asked:
 'What is God calling you to be'.  
The next weekend to experience monastic life is entitled Prayer and Nature and runs from 14th to 16th July, see poster for further details

As announced at Mass at the weekend, Sr Mary Anthony Levi, a familiar face to many who visited Hyning, died after a short illness, her funeral is today.  
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her Amen
