Feast of St Hildegard

Image of Trinity - Hildegard
On Tuesday 17th September the final celebration for the feast of St Hildegard was held at Lancaster Cathedral. This ecumenical service involved contributors from Lancaster Churches Together and included prayers, reflection and music inspired by Hildegard. A hymn to the Trinity:

Praise to the Trinity, which is sound and life,
Creator of all beings in their own lives;
and the praise of the angelic host,
and wond'rous splendour of the mysteries
that are unknown to all humankind
and with in ev'ry thing is life, is life.

was followed by a reflection and meditation on the Trinity.  Then young people placed candles on the altar next to the icon of Jesus whilst music and violin played Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt

Now father us all to yourself and in your mercy guide us into the paths of justice.
