After the Angelus on 1st September 2013, Pope Francis proclaimed for the whole Church on 7 September next, the vigil of the birth of Mary, Queen of Peace, a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria, the Middle East, and throughout the world, and I also invite each person, including our fellow Christians, followers of other religions and all men of good will, to participate, in whatever way they can, in this initiative. Tomorrow at the Cathedral there will be a prayer vigil for peace (to answer the invitation of the Holy Father) at the Cathedral from 3pm onwards until the Fatima First Saturday devotions that take place in the Lady Chapel at 5.15pm.

There will be confessions from 5.45pm until 6.15pm, then Holy Mass at 6.30pm.
