Getting ready for the big day

Practising receiving from the chalice
On Sunday eleven children in the parish will make their first Holy Communion.  Two at St Thomas More and nine at the Cathedral.  Tonight they came for a final rehearsal.  They practised what the priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion will say and what they will respond.
The Body of Christ
Amen

The Blood of Christ
Amen

Walking reverently around the Cathedral

Left, the children rehearse standing and processing around the Cathedral.  We talked about being reverent.

Right, the children are in the Sacristy, on Sunday they will join the Altar Servers and Fr Stewart in the sacristy and then take part in the entrance procession.

This is the final session of the 'My Lord and My God' sacramental preparation programme, which has included sessions for adults and children to learn more about God's family - the Church, God's story - the Bible, God's gifts of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, and our relationship with God - the Trinity and Prayer.
