The Saint Vincent de Paul Society offers support to those in need in many ways. See further details on the SVP page.
During the month of September there is a national campaign to help raise awareness of what they do.
They aim to …
Welcome the Stranger …
Comfort the Bereaved …
Befriend the Lonely …
Feed the Hungry …
Visit the Prisoner …
Care for the Sick.
The regular donations to the Doorstep collection provides valuable income but, in this SVP Awareness month they ask those who are able to make an extra effort to support the work of our own SVP by adding a £2 coin to the appeal stand available at the back of church at the end of Mass. They have some £2 coins you can swap for £1 coins if you don't have a £2 coin.
Over the coming weeks we'll have more about their campaign.
