When Pope Benedict XVI visited England one of the highlights of his visit was the recognition of John Henry Newman as Blessed.
When the church communities of St Mary's, St Patrick's and the Good Shepherd in Morecambe and Heysham became a single Parish, they took the name of Blessed John Henry Newman. The group included 10 young people and 5 adults.
