Bishop Paul Swarbrick's Holy Week Message

In the third of his video messages Bishop Paul Swarbrick reflects on 'lockdown' what has become a familiar term in the current crises and reminds us that Christ is with us.
The phrase we hear in lockdown, thinking about that reflecting on it, it brough to mind an important aspect of our faith, as Catholics where we keep Christ within the tabernacle obviously the Blessed Sacrament is there as a source of comfort and inspiration for us a focus of prayer, an anchor for us to return to again and again and know that he is there with us and for us available to us at this time where our churches are locked and access to the Blessed Sacrament is restricted severely it's important that we realise that Christ still reaches us the physical constraints are not in any way compromising the spiritual and so again this morning I will pray here in the Cathedral a privilege for me when I want to share with you I will pray here before our Blessed Lord locked down in the tabernacle, sharing our difficulties in his huanity sharing our restrictions but in his divinity reaching our to us with all the strength and grace and comfort that his love brings to us so those of you who are experiencing particular difficulties.

During the coming week the following Holy Week services of the Tiduum will be celebrated in the Cathedral and then shared on Lancaster Cathedral Youtube
