Yesterday Pope Francis formally opened the Synod of Bishops on with a solemn Mass in St Peter’s Basilica. Pope Francis explained that synodality: “Celebrating a Synod, means walking on the same road, together.” This is “a synod on synodality,” officially known as "Synod 2021-23: for a Synodal Church".
