Holy Week and the Triduum

 Holy Week and the Triduum

We start Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday and later move on to celebrate the Triduum, three services which are all connected and filled with important reminders of our Lord's final day, being laid in the tomb and then rising again three days later.

As we start the week a short video to outline the highlights.  The service begins with:

  • the Mass of the Lord's Supper on the evening of Maundy Thursday when members of the parish will have their feet washed,
  • followed by the Good Friday Service where we remember Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross by listening to the Passion and venerate the cross,
  • followed by the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening where we start with lighting the Paschal candle, listen to the Exsultet Easter Proclamation, listen to salvation history, renew our Baptismal Promises and celebrate the risen Lord.
