Choir rehearsing before Easter vigil 2016

At the Cathedral we are fortunate to have members of the parish who share their musical gifts to enhance our liturgy.  Today we share some behind the scene pictures of them rehearsing before the Easter vigil. The women's choir rehearse on a Thursday evening and Sunday morning, they welcome new members.  If you are interested to join please have a word with Damian the Musical Director.

St Augustine

says to sing is to pray twice. He also wrote about the importance of psalms as songs of praise.  At the Easter vigil we sang psalms after each of the seven readings where we heard about God's saving plan.
