Easter Blessings

Bishop Michael Campbell - Easter Blessings
After celebrating the Easter vigil, the third service in the Triduum, Bishop Michael Campbell echoed thanks from Fr Steve by thanking all those who had helped to prepare and contribute to the Holy Week services.  Over the come days we'll include more about these public and hidden contributions.

A Happy Easter to all our parishioners and to your families. No matter what the weather outside is doing, inside our hearts there is the warm glow of the Resurrection as we greet our risen Lord on this day and in this Easter Season. The Easter season is concluded with the celebration of the birth of the church as a missionary body at Pentecost.

The life of resurrection binds, through God’s grace, into a true relationship with God our Father and with each other. Although there are many times in our lives when we fail in that relationship through our sin, nevertheless God’s eternal mercy will always welcome us back. This year the Jubilee of Mercy, called by Pope Francis, reminds us powerfully of this Mercy. Although we have and Easter Day and an Easter Season, in the Christian life everyday is an Easter day regardless of the Church’s seasons. Our Baptism is the passport to this life of grace and mercy with God. So today as we renew our baptismal promises during Mass lets think of this for what it is, a time of reminder and renewal. Through God’s grace let us renew our efforts to be Christian individuals who follow the Catholic faith. Fr Steve.
